It won’t reconcile for you. It names the stage that broke.
Before
Pieces went missing between cutting and packing, and nobody found out until the end of the run.
Now
Every stage counts what it took in and what it passed on. A shortfall shows up the same day, at the stage where it happened.
Follows a production run stage by stage and reconciles what was cut against what was packed, so a loss between stages surfaces during the run instead of at the end of it.
Every handover between stages is a place where a number changes and nobody notices. Counting at each one turns an argument at the end of the month into a number on the day.
What was measured, and what it does not say.
Every figure carries its own limit. Of the eight firms we checked, not one states the method or the limits behind any number it advertises.
Two things it will not do.
These are in the build because a wrong answer to any of them costs more than no answer at all.
Adjusting a count so that a stage reconciles
A number that does not add up is left not adding up. The gap is the finding.
Deciding who was responsible for a shortfall
It names the stage where the count changed. Who and why is a conversation on the floor.
Why there is no model in this one
- Every other build here reads language somewhere, and each has a model that may move the answer in exactly one direction.
- This build counts pieces. There is no sentence anywhere in it to interpret.
- Adding a model to arithmetic would add a way to be wrong and nothing else, so there isn’t one.
What Streetwear Classy says.
Approved by Streetwear Classy for publication.
Counting up at the end of a run and finding you are short is a horrible way to finish a week, and by then nobody remembers where it went. Now we find out the same day, while the run is still on the floor. Noorflows came back through the workshop in the spring to watch it being used, which nobody has ever done for us.
Six more, built the same way.
Each names its client and says what it refuses. Every price is published, from $390.
